A range of support services are listed below:

Northern Territory Government:

The Northern Territory Government funds an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to provide professional and confidential counselling services to Northern Territory Public Service employees. As a Northern Territory teacher, you and your immediate family can access up to 6 free confidential sessions per occasion with an independent EAP psychologist or counsellor. You can make appointments directly with external EAP providers or can seek assistance through the DCDD Workforce Relations team via (08) 8999 1741 or workforceservices@nt.gov.au.

The DPS office is located in Palmerston and Winnellie is open Monday to Friday 8am-5pm, with afterhours appointments available by negotiation.

The Black Dog Institute is a not-for-profit, educational, research, clinical and community-oriented facility offering specialist expertise in depression and bipolar disorder.

On the Line Australia

All Hours Suicide (AHS) Support Service is a referral-only service. They provide 24/7 telephone support to clients of Primary Health Networks who are identified as high risk to suicide, when their practitioner (psychologist, social worker, mental health clinician, etc.) is not available.

MensLine Australia

Offers free professional 24/7 phone, webchat and video counselling support for men with concerns about mental health, anger management, family violence (using and experiencing), addiction, relationship, stress and wellbeing.

Health Direct Australia Health provides free advice from a registered nurse 24 hours a day. The nurse can give expert advice on any health problem, and direct you to local health services. Available to residents in ACT, NSW, NT, TAS, SA & WA.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is an informal society of recovering alcoholics.
