The Northern Territory Department of Education has engaged the Australian Catholic University's Institute for Positive Psychology and Education (IPPE) to conduct this survey from 24 October to 20 November 2022.

The survey was first conducted in 2019 and led to the development of the Education NT Teacher Wellbeing Strategy 2019-22. All teachers are invited to complete the survey including those who registered in 2019.

The survey is completely confidential. No one will be able to identify you from the aggregated data, or findings within any written report or article using the data.

Teachers new to survey

This survey has 3 key activities:

  1. Individual wellbeing report: Once a teacher completes the survey, they receive a confidential individual wellbeing report giving them an overview of their personal wellbeing. If you are repeating the survey your results from 2019 and 2022 will be compared in your report. Only individual teachers can access their report.
  2. Greater understanding: Survey results from all participating teachers will be combined by the researchers at IPPE to build a holistic picture of the state of health and wellbeing for school teachers across the NT.
  3. Wellbeing data and report: The department will then receive a system-level report with recommendations for future actions. The report will compare data from 2019 and 2022 and inform the development of a new Teacher Wellbeing Action Plan for launch in 2023. No individual teachers or schools will be identified in the report.
